I went to view my accounts on AT&T and Verizon they blocked Proton VPN stating it was a security violation.
When I switched to an USA VPN provider no issues like that.
Do I have to change VPN services to access secure ISPs or is there a fix for this issue?
A lot of websites block VPN use these days. Best solution is to keep swapping servers to find a working one, or a socks5 proxy or no VPN at all for some websites.
Understand that big corporations aren’t concerned with reducing your risk, they are concerned with reducing their risk. So nevermind that customers could benefit from using VPN when connecting through a public hotspot, all the company cares about is that VPN’s are sometimes used by hackers, so blocking VPN’s reduces their risk.
I have AT&T and that website has always been a pain, VPN or not, Proton or something else. to get around this, when I need to access the account, I use their app on iOS and Proton VPN on. and it works fine.
I’m having all sorts of these issues and Proton is refusing to refund me even though I’m within the 30 day refunds window. Sites get blocked on proton but not on Nord.
It makes it kind of useless
I used to do customer service for AT&T, and then later, for Verizon. Basically, yeah, they don’t like VPNs. They also do not like you trying to use their websites from any IP that appears to be coming from outside the US. It causes travelers that need to do things on the AT&T website a lot of trouble while they’re overseas.
Yep. The one we’re on right now hates not knowing who I am every time I visit. lol Reddit and their prying eyes detest the combo of Mullvad VPN and Mullvad browser.
