The Shape of Things Streaming Info :orange_heart: (UK/EU only)

I’m crushed - I wish we could stream it in Australia. I was so excited for this as a bright light in the darkness of the Polin drought (yes, maybe I’m being a tad dramatic, but still)! So disappointed.

I’ve never used it before but can’t you change your VPN to show in a different country? Does anyone know if that will work, and if it does which VPN service is the safest to use? I really hope I can do that because I want to see it soooooo bad!

More info here

I’m sad I won’t get to stream it but the memory of seeing it live with live in my head for a long time! Congrats to those who will get to witness it via this filming though.

Sad that it’s UK/EU only! They’ve said it’s restricted for licensing reasons and from my uni amdram days I’ve seen how strict licensing can be.

The company that owns the rights to the play in the UK doesn’t license it for the US, a different company does, so this definitely isn’t on the play’s cast/crew who I’m sure wanted everyone to see it

Some of the bigger streaming places like CBC Canada’s shows and BBC British shows are restricted when you try to use a VPN! So it might be hit or miss

I don’t know if vpn will work well with this website. Some sites/app go perfectly fine for me with vpn, others not.
But in case it works, then I can highly recommend the vpnify app, I always use this one and it works very well.

Okay. I just read that the play was off West End kinda like off-Broadway here. So the chances of seeing it in the US in the future are doubtful.

The National Theatre at Home app allows people in the United States to rent or pay a membership fee to watch British Theatre. I have seen British plays through the National Theatre app. The average cost of a rental is 8 dollars. Neil LaBute knows The Shape of Things was revived in the UK. It’s the first revival of the play in 20 yrs. I wish he could do something about the licensing. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Aah yeah that’s annoying! Hopefully they can work something out for the rest of the world
