Subscription Renewed Two Weeks Early

My subscription was set to renew on April 2. I had been planning on cancelling my subscription before the date but hadn’t gotten around to it yet. I found out this morning that they had already renewed my account and charged me for the full year.

Has this happened to anyone else and is there any way to get a refund?

  1. AUTOMATIC RENEWAL

Auto-renewal. After the end of your first Subscription period, your Subscription will be automatically renewed for an additional term:

  • 1-year and longer Subscriptions - for the 1-year Subscription period annually.
  • Shorter than 1-year Subscriptions - for the same respective Subscription period each time.

You will be charged the then-current price of the Services valid at the time of your renewal.

Reminder. We will send you a notification reminding you about the upcoming renewal of the Subscription and the then-current renewal price of our Services thirty (30) days before charging you for the upcoming period (except for users of monthly and shorter Subscriptions). If you do not wish to continue using our Services, you have the right to cancel the Subscription before the day of the charge.

Billing. We will charge you for the upcoming Subscription period in advance, i.e., before the beginning of such an upcoming Subscription period (unless you cancel the Subscription before the day of the charge). The charge in accordance with your chosen payment method will be made:

  • For monthly plans: on the day of the auto-renewal (i.e., the start of the upcoming Subscription period).
  • For other plans: at least fourteen (14) days before the auto-renewal (i.e., the start of the upcoming Subscription period).

This just happened to me with two weeks to go. I actually had problems with the Nord Chrome Extension keeping my Chrome tabs and web pages from opening. It took a lot of time and work to figure out that was the problem. Anyway, I was just going to cancel and it auto-renewed on me 2 weeks early. I contacted Nord and they did agree to refund my money.

My payment info is removed from Nord for this reason specifically. I want the flexibility to change my mind right up to the end, full control.

It’s weird for me, cause they tried to charge me almost as much for a year, as I inititially paid for 3 years. On the site it says the status of the payment is “paid”, but there is no invoice, and also no actual money was withdrawn from my bank account. I think the payment is somehow still in a pending state, trying to charge a card that no longer exists, cause I switched banks and attached a different card to my paypal account. :face_with_hand_over_mouth: serves them right, greedy pieces of shit. I made a free account on Proton VPN and won’t be looking back, certainly won’t renew with these shady ass mfs. I’ll do everything not to use Nord anymore from now on
