"Something went wrong while getting your SSO info" - error on login

I haven’t been able to log in for an hour and I’m getting this error.

I have tried different browsers and ISPs.

Is OpenAI having an outage?

Hi, if anyone is still having this issue, this is what fixed it for me.

When you are on the Login page

Modify the URL by adding “0” right after “auth” so it looks like: https://auth0.openai.com//authorize?client

reload the page by hitting enter when in the URL field, the page should now contain “0” in the URL and be reloaded, put in your email and the password prompt should show up allowing you to sign-in

Here’s a new working way to login, relevant as of December 2024.

  1. Use this link to login: https://chatgpt.com/auth/login_with?auth_flow=auth0
  2. When the URL changes to something very long, e.g. https://auth.openai.com/authorize?client_id... add 0 to the end of auth, so it will look this https://auth0.openai.com/authorize?client_id
  3. Login normally.
  4. Live happily ever after.

(Edit: three confirmations that it works, not a single upvote. Reddit is weird).

This is a major bug that still exists, 4 months later. I am using a mail address with a custom domain and OpenAI seems to interpret it as an Enterprise account and tries to establish an SSO connection which I do not offer on my domain. That fails.

If there are people from OpenAI around here, please fix this! Not every custom mail domain is a corporate address with SSO!

In my case it happened when I was connected through a VPN session. It did not happen before, I guess they don’t want me to be protected as they need to syphon my personal data… As soon as I disabled the VPN client everything worked.

I also noticed that there is no easy “contact support” link. For 20$/month, I think I’ll be going somewhere else.

Same issue with Chrome. But it works with Safri.

any solution for apk chatgpt???

I turned off my VPN, turned off Brave ‘Shields’ and then cleared the cookies for Chat GPT and then it worked again.

Translated from another language using chatpt.

I faced the same issue: my account is non-corporate but registered with a work email address. I used VPN configurations like Shadowsocks + VLESS.

Step-by-Step Solution

  1. Switch Browser and VPN:
  • Log in using a different browser and a different VPN service.
  • Once logged in, you can switch back to your usual setup, and the SSO problem should disappear.
  1. Using TOR as an Alternative:
  • If other VPNs don’t work, try logging in via the TOR browser. Note that while this method may grant access, it might not fix the main issue.
  1. Sync Cookies Between Devices:
  • If ChatGPT is logged in on one device but not another, you can transfer cookies to maintain access:
    • Use the EditThisCookie browser extension to export cookies from the working device.
    • Import those cookies into your browser on the device with access issues.
  • This method allows authorization to work across devices temporarily.

Notes & Potential Limitations

  • If the same cookies are used on multiple devices, authorization might expire simultaneously across all of them.
  • As a fallback, you can try exporting cookies from a working session in the TOR browser.

It works, thank you!

I have the same problem. Tried your solution, but this happens:

As of today this hack has stopped working :frowning: Back to square one.

OpenAI
Oops!, something went wrong

Callback URL mismatch.
The provided redirect_uri is not in the list of allowed callback URLs.
Please go to the Application Settings page and make sure you are sending a valid callback url from your application.

SOLUTION!

Thanks u/Athelash, this works perfectly.

I’m also using a VPN, but this extra 0 fixed the issue while still using the VPN

It works, thank you!!

Thanks a ton for this! I’ve not been able to use ChatGPT for months because of this error. Why haven’t they fixed it is beyond me.

Worked - I wonder if it’s a VPN thing. I was using a private VPN though, so not a blacklist thing. Could be a routing problem maybe.

Thank you!! Genius!!

Thank you for this excellent fix!

Thanks a lot! It wotks!!!
