Hi, just wanted to info on which router i can buy to install VPN directly on the router?
You can install Proton VPN on routers that support OpenVPN or WireGuard as a client (instead of as a server).
Any gl.inet routers can do. Check them out! I highly recommend them…
Works with Firewalla as a 3rd party VPN. Able to setup multiple VPN’s, and create routes for each VPN interface.
I use Asus RT- AX86U with WireGuard config file. I paid in my house for 300Mbps and with VPN in this router I max my 300Mbps almost every time.
GL-Inet beryl or slate also work well with wireguard. Most have AdGuard Home( supposed to use Quad9 DNS but I had to set that up myself for some reason) and the VPN Clients> Global Options has a killswitch if you want it.
Any router that supports ddwrt can run Proton VPN. Pretty easy to setup also.
gl-inet openvpn routers
Does anyone know if Eero Routers work ?
I have a gl.inet Slate and an Invizbox 2. Both work great for me, but I don’t know your intended use. Ultra high speeds aren’t really going to work with these, but they’re adequate for 4 people all streaming video at the same time.
Does Ubiquiti UDM Pros work?
I’d check out this link The Best VPN Router in 2024: Top 8 Choices for NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark & More
Looks like FlashRouters has a decent selection of ProtonVPN routers available to be plug and play configured as well - https://www.flashrouters.com/vpn-types/protonvpn
Had a Travel Router from glinet and now flint 2. really good routers.
gl.inet is great. I have the original Slate and it still works like a charm.
Wireguard works Great on them too
Not to my knowledge, no.
rough getting stuck with one of those pieces of crap, best thing you can do with one of them is to get a separate “firewall/router” device and use the eeros specifically for wifi
Mostly to bypass the the throttling of certain streaming apps by MY ISP
Yes :).
Don’t run it myself yet but friend has it configured on his.
