Not gonna act like this is new but it stopped working again.I’m in one of the countries that xmanager isn’t working in and I’ve been able to just change my region and it starts working. Like every 2 weeks it stopped working but if I changed to another country it would just start working. Today it stopped working, so I change countries and it started working. I went to do something and turned the VPN off, but when I came back Spotify just stopped working. I’ve been trying something’s and it seems that it’s only working if I’m in the country that my account is set to. When I put my vpn on the country I set my account to it starts working. Idk anymore I guess it works but it’s not worth it to turn a VPN every time I want to listen to music so yeah if there is a way to fix this i’d be really grateful.
Same here, I’m Portuguese. Spotify devs prolly added a Server side script that assesses your IP ADDRESS, meaning they probably lock server side payload returns as soon as your IP address matches one of the countries (Portugal or Greece) affected by their previous (and incredibly stupid) patch. In simple terms, as soon as you turn your vpn off, Spotify devs and their incredibly selfish minds use a script on their servers, which probably outputs: “you have a Portuguese or Greek IP and your app was not downloaded from Google Play store ALERT ALERT, we will not return any app payload to you sir! Either get an IP address from a country that did not accept our privacy infringing policies or SCRAM and buy our premium features for an excessive price!”
Portuguese user here. So I noticed that if I change country and keep the VPN ON, only music works. Podcast appears as empty.
Having to use a VPN 24/7 now to use spotify is depressing…
If someone finds a workaround please tell me and everyone that needs help!
having the exact same problem. everything stops the moment i turn the vpn off. good to know im not the only one ig but its disappointing bcs i just fixed it and i was rly relieved for the past few days

Greek here, can confirm it broke for me as well with the VPN trick not working any more. Don’t know why the are targeting us Mediterranean brothers…
Youtube music revanced is my alternative now.
Yeah, the last fix of VPN stopped working. Portugal here.

After a whole month of it working of i used a vpn, it atopped working even while using vpn. I even tried changing locations again and it didnt work, if anyone finds out why, please say so :')
Using spotify in Spain with a Spanish account and it does not work. Which country would I have to set the VPN to for it to work?

the VPN trick stopped for me too. (GR based)
Use a VPN, mine did the same I used SUPER VPN app to change my location and works like a charm 
Change your location through the Spotify site and then use the VPN to use the app
