i can’t seem to find a way for qBittorrent to use my vpn (Hotspot Shield Premium)
i’m connected to hotspot shield, but https://ipleak.net/ still shows my original ip
i tried following:
https://blog.xeovo.com/how-to-avoid-bittorrent-ip-leak/
but hotspot shield doesn’t seem to have a network interface.
and i wasn’t able to find a solution for this problem
Not sure what your VPN *is* doing if your browser & apps are being auto-excluded. Hmm.
You can tell qbittorrent to use a specific network adapter in the settings.
Only qBittorrent doesn’t connect via the vpn. Everything else does
Already tried it, but HotspotShield doesn’t add one
Your browser’s not using it if you always get your original IP on ipleak or other ip/dns/isp/port detection sites. I’m a bit confounded by your saying it doesn’t have a network interface. They generally take over one of your existing network tunnels in addition to having one of their own. Try to figure out which one it’s using and bind it according to the usual procedures. That should make sure qBittorrent is going thru your VPN, but if it’s not a VPN-specific interface name, it’s not going to help as a killswitch.
Really? That’s surprising. I can’t imagine a VPN app that doesn’t use some sort of virtual network interface.
found it. just had to take a closer look. The interface was disguised as a LAN network: Thanks for the help
same issue. Lots of interfaces. How did you figure it out? thanks
