Problem with cisco anyconnect

I cannot connect to my University-VPN anymore for some reason; I checked the Firewall settings and the program isnt limited in any way, therefore I got no clue whats going on; can anybody help out?

It resolves, but looks broken (internal server error)

Saw something like this before.
Due to your issues with the other sites and the certificate warnings my guess is either

  • your system time/date
  • your av / web protection

And in German:

check mal die uhrzeit und das Datum sowie deinen virenkiller / web schutz.
Irgendwas verhindert, dass https sauber die verschlüsselte Verbindung aufbaut

It could be your windows firewall. You could temporarily disable your windows firewall and try again. If it works then you will have to allow your VPN client app through your windows firewall.

Also, contact your ISP and ask if they block standard VPN traffic. Some ISPs in the UK used to do this.

Do you have the network manager/visibility module installed? That thing can cause problems. If so, if possible, reinstall anyconnect and unchecked that module.

What do you mean by that; english isnt my First language so im Not too wise regardinf technical vocabulary haha

But i guess So, nothing was ever Changed there

There was a recent 0 day vuln for SSL VPN. It’s possible the university applied work around for the 0 day and broke SSL VPN on purpose or by accident. OP, nothing you can do except report it to the university help desk: [email protected]

hm so i guess the server itself went boom temporarily

I temporarily disabled everything in Norton 360 (it controls the firewall) and nothing changed

DNS = Domain Name Resolution is the service that translates names like vpn.uni-jena.de to an IP address. If your computer cannot perform that translation it will be unable to contact the intended host. Can you reach any internet host/webpage?

I tried google.de and YouTube.com and they dont Got certificates (fails too)
But idk which other Host i could since this is the only vpn-url i have (Access to)

What do you use for dns? You can try changing it to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Open up a command prompt (cmd or cmd.exe) and type nslookup vpn.uni-jena.de. You should get an output somewhat like this:

C:\Users\Rockstaru> nslookup vpn.uni-jena.de
Server:  ####
Address:  10.151.0.81

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    asa-5-vpn-omni-std-ext.netz.uni-jena.de
Addresses:  2001:638:1558:23fc::e
          141.35.252.14
Aliases:  vpn.uni-jena.de

nslookup is a command line tool to perform a DNS query, which is the act of turning names into IP addresses (also called DNS resolution). In this output my computer is sending a query to its configured DNS resolver, 10.151.0.81, requesting the address of vpn.uni-jena.de; the DNS resolver is replying with 2001:638:1558:23fc::e (an IPv6 address) and 141.35.252.14 (an IPv4 address). If your computer can’t do that, then it will not be able to connect to your university’s VPN, because it needs to know what IP address vpn.uni-jena.de resolves to in order to know where to send traffic.

C:\Users\lukas>nslookup vpn.uni-jena.de

Server: dns-extern-01.uni-jena.de

Address: 141.35.104.106

Name: asa-5-vpn-omni-std-ext.netz.uni-jena.de

Addresses: 2001:638:1558:23fc::e

141.35.252.14

Aliases: vpn.uni-jena.de

this is the result from that
