Is anyone using PIA VPN on more than 100 devices? I’m looking for a solution like this, and it would be helpful to hear if there are any issues when setting up that many devices.
Windscribe definitely doesn’t offer “unlimited devices”; they banned my account at 71 connections. Surfshark claims to be unlimited as well, but I’ve seen many posts from people with banned accounts after having 25+ connections.
I’m willing to purchase multiple subscriptions if necessary. I just want to know the actual limitations.
It is because of morons like you that we get recaptchas in websites. I hope PIA bans your account just like WindScribe has done. And your post history shows that you have also been banned from Hetzner, Azure, Vultr, Digital Ocean” etc because of your “scripts”.
Yes, your best bet would be to use a router and route those via PIA. It technically only counts as once device.
I asked PIA about this very thing and they (customer chat/help) told me
I could use 100 devices as well… I too have not tested this out of fear via their TOS… but no less, I took pictures of the chat on this very topic.
No less, I would love to know if anyone has used 12 devices… 20…30 or even up to 100 devices as well…
I don’t have an answer for you but will you provide a use case for this? You have 100 separate devices that you want to connect separately to PIA? And you can’t use 1 router connected to PIA and then connect your devices to it?
thanks to idiots like you, so many servers have captchas
You can have simultaneous connection to unlimited devices mix of router, mac ,ios , android, Linux any supported os
Sure… really simple for devices on your network… Setup a Gluetun container in Docker and connect it to PIA over OpenVPN. It has a built in version of Privoxy proxy server that is open at port 8888 so you can connect any device on your network to the IP/DNS name of the Container/Hosting-Server:8888 such as linuxserver.localdomain.local:8888 and all their traffic will route in and out that Container via the VPN connected to PIA.
I have no idea if 100 devices will get decent throughput to a single VPN connection but I guess you could setup a couple Raspberry PIs this way and then have XX amount of devices point to each. Technically the vendor should have no idea how many devices you have connected (outside of the Gluetun containers) using those connections because it is all just traffic to them. I have Gluetun setup and route a couple devices on my home network that way plus a single Firefox browser on my desktop PC this way so I do not have to use their app and also do not have to tie my entire PC to their VPN. I just have the 1 browser setup for VPN and the rest of the PC is fine so if I need to search ro do something I want over VPN i use that browser otherwise I use my other browser and things like updates to that PC work fine because they are not blocked by being behind a known VPN server block.
You can probably use 100 or one million devices if you connect your router to PIA and have the devices behind the router, the problem is only if you use 100 separate devices with 100 different IPs, only if you run some kind of scam you need that.
If you do the router thing you would have a single IP, not useful to run scams.
