Please recommend me free VPN with port forwarding, privacy doesn't matter

Have you tried using qBittorent for Windows? I don’t know why that wouldn’t work.

I’ve already explained it, but you obviously haven’t lifted a finger to research it for yourself. Most consumer grade routers support automatic port forwarding. However, many routers don’t have that feature. qBittorent supports automatic port forwarding, but you have no clue why that’s the case.

Yeah I know. But I do not get to decide that. For my parents, that jio stb is enough as a showcase. They are the type who would rather not watch any movie that try anything to pirate it cause they think it is illegal. (It is entirely different matter that they are very enthusiastic to watch when I pirate something and give it to them without asking them about it beforehand)

I use that only and in 8 months of torrenting, I have only been able to seed 11MB. A freaking 11 megabytes while I have downloaded many hundreds of gigabytes worth of things.

You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Should’ve known when I asked you if you meant UPnP/NAT-PMP by “automatic port-forwarding” and you couldn’t even answer that. Plus the insistence on the router when this is irrelevant within a VPN tunnel.

Stop spreading bullshit.

I don’t know the source of the problem because I don’t have any issues seeding torrents with automatic port forwarding. I’m guessing that your ISP is blocking torrents. Any reputable VPN provider should have a paid tier that allows torrenting. Why none of them would work for you is beyond my knowledge.

It’s b.s. to you because you don’t understand how the technology works. The name of the technology is irrelevant if you don’t understand how it works. Automatic port forwarding doesn’t work unless the router supports the technology. Disputing that fact just proves that you don’t understand how the technology works.

Prove it once and for all:

  1. Go here.

  2. Enter the exit IP from Mullvad and the port you’ve configured to be automatically forwarded.

  3. Post a screenshot of it “Open”

I guess it’s either a troll or a kid. Mullvad discontinued port-forwarding support, but it still works for Mr. Technology here because “routers support it”.

Automatic port forwarding works only when a port is requested. Again, you don’t understand how automatic port forwarding works. Automatic port forwarding is the only way to torrent with Mullvad…and yes, Mullvad supports torrenting.

I think they read about UPnP in their router’s manual and vastly overestimate their understanding.

Mullvad discontinued “manual” port forwarding - - not automatic port forwarding. That’s why torrenting still works with Mullvad.

Automatic port forwarding works only when a port is requested.

What the hell are you even trying to say with this? When you torrent, you set a peer listening port. Your client then listens for peers trying to connect on the port you specified. In order for your device to see that request, the port has to be open, else the firewall blocks it. Automatic port forwarding lets that configuration happen without a manual firewall rule. If working properly, your device will receive and reply to requests on that port. Including a request from portchecker.co or any similar website.

Automatic port forwarding is the only way to torrent with Mullvad

Mullvad doesn’t support port forwarding in any way, shape or form. Go ask them if you’re confused. So nothing discussed above matters, because Mullvad does not support port forwarding. Not manual port forwarding. Not automatic port forwarding. A portchecker.co request will be denied, which I’m sure you realized when you tried it.

and yes, Mullvad supports torrenting.

Correct, and I’ve never claimed otherwise. The issue is that you’ll be in passive mode meaning you can only connect to peers who have port forwarding enabled themselves. Depending on the tracker and torrent health, this can range from inconsequential to a major limitation.

You’ve exposed yourself as a fraud who has no clue how any of this works and you’re not qualified to give advice to others.

This is coming from someone who hasn’t lifted a finger to research how automatic port forwarding works.

Sure dude, you already got my 2024 reddit bozo award. Truly stuff for r/confidentlyincorrect.

You don’t even realize that torrenting doesn’t work without port forwarding. LOL. However, “manual” port forwarding isn’t required. Automatic port forwarding also works for torrenting. Again, that’s how Mullvad allows their customers to torrent without “manual” port forwarding.

Please post this in that sub. That would make my day. LOL

Just completely and utterly wrong.

IVPN:

Is it possible to torrent without Port Forwarding?

The short answer to the question: Yes, you can download and upload data even with closed port.

This subreddit:

Is port forwarding a must for a torrenting vpn?

No, but performance can be mediocre without it.

No, it is not mandatory. You can still torrent without port forwarding.

Superuser:

Why does bittorrent not require port forwarding?

even though an outsider can not initiate a connection with me because my ports are closed, I can still initiate the connection to someone who has a proper configuration.

LimeVPN:

However, it is important to note that port forwarding is not required. Users can still download files even without port forwarding, as long as there are people sharing the file who are not behind a NAT firewall.

Shall I go on?

Torrents work without port forwarding you dumbass. Look up reverse connection, NAT traversal and hole punching. As long as the counterpart has a port open, obviously. So for the last time - stop spreading bullshit.

It’s pretty obvious that you haven’t ever used Mullvad for torrenting with automatic port forwarding. Seeding and downloading works on Mullvad because of automatic port forwarding. I wouldn’t be able to seed and download with Mullvad if I disabled automatic port forwarding. Seeding and downloading on Mullvad is possible ONLY because of automatic port forwarding.

Nonetheless you’re implying that seeding isn’t possible on Mullvad because manual port forwarding isn’t allowed… despite the fact you haven’t used Mullvad for torrenting in this way. If you think that I’m lying, that’s on you. I’m not going to try to convince you or anyone else that seeding with Mullvad is possible because of automatic port forwarding. You can believe whatever you want to believe.
