PIA sub expiring. Need a good paid VPN recommendation

PIA is honestly great for the price compared to something like NordVPN or ExpressVPN and I would’ve likely renewed the subscription.

However I have this issue where everytime I do a google search, it keeps asking for RECAPTCHA. I’ve had it with the number of times it has asked me for that.

I want something that’s good value for the same price as PIA or even cheaper, but doesn’t have the same RECAPTCHA issue. Do y’all have any recommendations? Thanks a lot!

I use Proton VPN

Also, you will always get that Google Captcha issue while on a VPN. Even Apple’s iCloud Private Relay has this issue. Best resolution I can come up with is switch to DuckDuckGo and for any Google search, type “!g” then the search term

Imo Google will ask for captcha regardless of which vpn server you use, because they know it’s a vpn server.

I use DuckDuckGo if I’m using vpns mainly because they don’t care I’m using vpn

Every vpn is going to have the capcha problem that’s the point of your ip going to their server and coming out as a different ip address shared among other users which looks bad to capcha but is part of the way your harder to track.

Personally I use mullvad

I personally using Proton VPN

I’ve got Nord can’t recommend it over the last few years it’s become very pushy to always be connected even when you tell it to disconnect its a 50/50 if it does

I use Mozilla vpn (mullvad under the hood) and I hardly ever get asked to complete a captcha.

That’s a google thing. Not PIA. Google does something on their end that detects you are using a VPN and doesn’t like it. I’m not sure if it’s for security, or to inconvenience you to turn it off so that they can better collect data on you, but it’s going to happen whether your VPN is PIA or someone else.

Windscribe has been my go to for ages. It’s been really reliable and they have a zero logs policy. The recaptcha is something you’ll likely run into with most any VPN as it’s Google’s way of preventing ddos attacks and the like. If there’s many people using the same VPN endpoint you’ll likely get a recaptcha. I haven’t run into that issue using duckduckgo as of yet if you’re willing to try a different engine.

Using the server closest to your actual area tends to fix this for me.

I see a lot of people recommending DDG. Just no. Use Searx. It indexes ~70 search engines.

If you’re only using the vpn for piracy and getting around content i’m gonna say Nord, never had a problem with it

Despite being paid previously and the fact I will be paid in the future by PIA, my answer is unbiased and as a personal recommendation you should stick with PIA. This is not an advert.

I have a lifetime for VPNUnlimited perpetual is a great value.

That’s just a vpn thing. You can just setup a split tunnel and have your browser go through the clear.
