NowTv Ire Sub in Uk Firestick

I’m here for work for next few months and I can use my sub from back home on my laptop with vpn no issues.

Bought a firestick and even using a vpn it won’t work. 2 versions of the app show up one says app not found,other works and it just times out and won’t let me sign in. Any help?

I think it’s down to the version of the Now tv app. Because you’re using a firestick in the UK it will have installed the UK version of the Now app.

I’m in the UK too but have a Now.ie subscription :slight_smile: and I had to get the Now ie apk version from an apk website (apkpure)… and install it and use it while my vpn is set to Ireland to beat the region locking.

Probably different apps the irish one has TNT channels the UK doesn’t. Might need to download the Irish one

If I’m understanding you correctly you have a NowTV IE sub which works fine in the UK on your laptop using a VPN but after having purchased a Firestick in the UK it isn’t working on that even with a VPN? The Firestick you bought do you have a UK or IE Amazon account logged in on it?

Make sure the app is updated and ExpressVPN works with it

Do you know if I can sub to now tv Ireland and use it in the uk?
Now tv uk doesn’t offer tnt so you need to sub to discovery plus but I don’t think it offerz 4k 50hz streams, but I assume now tv Ireland tnt sports will offer 4k 50hz?

I have firestick, nvidia shield and smart tvs for possible device to set it up on

It’s my IE account and I’ve tried changing the location to the uk and then back again but still nothing.

^^ That’s where I got mine from. You’ll need a file explorer to extract the .apk because apkpure wrap it in their own ‘xapk’ package - I use X-plore which is free from the amazon app store.

That’s weird. If you’re using your IE account the NowTV app should be the correct one as the App Store content is related to the country the account is registered to and not the country you’re in so you’ll definitely be using the correct app. I use my German Firestick in the uk at times too and still see the German App Store content regardless of where I am. The only thing I could suggest is trying a different VPN. Which one are you using?

Have you linked the fire stick to an IE address?

You have to do it through the settings on the Amazon website

  1. Log in to the Amazon account that’s linked to your Firestick
  2. Go to Accounts and Lists, hit Your Content and Devices, and select the Preferences tab
  3. Go to Country/Region Settings, select Change next to your current country, and fill in the form using an address in the region you want
  4. Restart your Firestick and complete the registration process

I have Nord too and do find I sometimes have to exit apps and change the server a few times before it works. I also have to change the protocol to nordlynx at times before it’ll work.

Thanks dan, got it downloaded on my nvidia shield.
I’ve not signed up for a sub yet, I was just seeing if I could get the app installed first.
Does the ireland version have Irish adverts and that?
