Hi,

I decided on two years of Proton Unlimited .

I have used AirVPN for 3 years, so I can give comparisons.

- In terms of connection stability on Windows, both products are excellent

- Proton VPN just blew me away with the android app. The connection lasts for weeks without interruption. The battery on the mobile phone, when it comes from 100% to 10%, Proton VPN only uses 1% of the battery. Perfectly.

- AirVPN has a spartan android app that they are slowly developing. I use it only when necessary. It consumes a lot of battery.

- AirVPN has less crowded servers. But the Proton works at full speed smoothly and stably, although I see occupancy at 85%.

- Both have a kill switch, but the Proton has a permanent kill switch. That’s a great thing for me.

- Netshield is proven to be excellent in filtering

- A big advantage of AirVPN is the price. The best price on the market. There are always big discounts for Christmas, Black Friday and days like this. That’s why I had the service for so many years. A quality VPN, and an affordable one… that’s AirVPN

- I was drawn to the Unlimited package. A new Proton Drive is being developed and that is a big plus. I saw the roadmap. Go ahead guys

- Proton is an example of that statement… better quality, not quantity

- Proton is huge and has fast support… I miss what AirVPN has… a small community that hosts help on the forum. Home atmosphere where you feel the community

- I repeat once again… the android app is brutally good, windows is great and I want you to keep it up

- Finally, I have a question… do you check packet loss sometime… what are your numbers in the tunnel… in my case about 1%. Is this normal for a VPN?

I’m really interested… let the users try to set the slider to 180 seconds.

Packet Loss Test – Test Your Connection Quality

A big greeting from me and Proton has my support!

We have a good and active community as well, with friendly and helpful users across all Proton subreddits

I am very unsatisfied customer. I switched from IPVanish last week because IPV is probably the feds. Everything works great the first couple of days and now ChatGPT is completely unusable while using ProtonVPN. I am a paying customer. I have tried all the new US updated paid servers, I’ve tried every browser solution, everything. I am very unhappy with my purchase and will ask for a refund.

I see. That’s the only reason I registered on Reddit.

I receive all notifications from Proton vpn, drive, mail, calendar.

I’m really confused with the concept of reddit, but I’m trying

chat gpt works normally for me.

how important is chat gpt to you? does it affect your salary?

if you use it for fun, use it disconnected from vpn

Thank you for joining our community, u/Grdelin73! We’re happy to have you here and have passed your comments to our team. They appreciate them.

You can also reach out to us on Twitter at @ ProtonVPN as well.

I don’t use it for fun, I use it to jump over insane learning hurdles in my pursuit of knowledge. I reckon it does affect my money because it’s making me a better engineer. So yeah, I need it to work for me with a VPN active. All my money comes from using a computer.

u/Grdelin73 We’d also like to follow up with your question about packet loss. The internet and the VPN service is best-effort delivery, so a 1% packet loss on that tool is normal and fine. This doesn’t impacting performance.

Best-effort delivery

Best-effort delivery describes a network service in which the network does not provide any guarantee that data is delivered or that delivery meets any quality of service. In a best-effort network, all users obtain best-effort service. Under best-effort, network performance characteristics such as network delay and packet loss depend on the current network traffic load, and the network hardware capacity. When network load increases, this can lead to packet loss, retransmission, packet delay variation, and further network delay, or even timeout and session disconnect.
