KDE linux issue with VPN

Hi,

I am constantly getting error like it is on picture when trying to connect via GUI app

How to fix that ? → on Proton site, it is stated that we shouldn’t use other credentials like username or password other than our main account and pass.

I would guess it want the OpenVPN password there. But otherwise I don’t know how to bypass this.

This is probably not the way to go, but I worked around this by installing and running nm-applet before trying to connect to a server.

This used to happen to me when I used the GUI app.

If I turned off my pc while I was connected to the VPN I would get that prompt next time I would boot and try to connect to the VPN again. The way I would solve this is, either disconneting the vpn before shutting down my pc or running protonvpn-cli d when I boot my computer before trying to connect to ProtonVPN again.

yes, I dont know also. Why I can not just use my Proton password

The new official Linux and macOS clients use your regular Proton credentials.

I solved it by entering openvpn password. But dont know is it correct or not

That’s from 23 hours ago.

I’m guessing something broke and that’s how you work around it.

They weren’t released yet
