Just realized I made a duplicate purchase by accident last year, and I’m too far gone to refund either of them, I guess I know what I’ll install if I need to make actual use of a VPN within the next few years…

It’s not like you lost anything, you just paid for 4 years of service instead of the 2 years intended. And it’s way past the refund period, so just pay attention next time.

At least they can run concurrently. Otherwise, that would have definitely been a mistake.

Nord VPN are hands down the worst, most uncooperative customer service I’ve ever dealt with.

It’s just a pain to realize, especially so late AND after I started to go through a weird issue with my PC that 5 different subreddits either can’t fix or get responses from.

I used the little text chat and talked to real people, it was good on that front but otherwise, they obviously could do nothing for me since it was obviously past 30 days.

Looking through your posts, did you by any chance installed cracked software or games?

When it comes to them refunding, the world will end before the do that.

I may have tried to use Bluestacks and possibly used the wrong site

But I got rid of that download pretty fast and both windows defender nor Malwarebytes found anything.

And usually if one doesn’t find it the other does.

I don’t think it’s the malware but more the system registry got altered. In the past i have run into issues where installing cracked software disable system wide updates. The easy way out is do a fresh install of the windows.

I’d LOVE to do that

But neither option under “reset this PC” work for me, and I don’t have a copy of windows on hand.

You can download the windows installation files from Microsoft into USB. It’s free.

You can boot into BIOS and run the USB Windows installation from there. Then format your drive and partition.

There are multiple ways to fresh install windows than the “reset this PC” button. Look it up on google or youtube, and find the option works for you.

Ok, I’ll look into this, probably after some sleep, thank you for the info, I shall update you with the results when I get to it, if that’s alright.

SO even though I made my USB into a recovery drive I still “could not find recovery environment”

It shouldn’t be recovery drive… Do a google search “how to install windows 11 with usb.” Thousands of tutorials awaits.

Are you talking about stuff with the “Media creation tool”? Because that shows “There was a problem running this tool”
