Don’t know if you guys are awere of what is going on in Venezuela. It seens like the Jagged Alliance plot is becoming true:

Well, sort of…

Time for the enemy to say its prayers.

Must be careful. Still have enemy here.

Time to take out the thrash.

So supposedly something big… should have happened 4 days ago? Guess that didn’t work out lol.

Cool story, but… the difference between fiction and reality is that you cant overthrow a country with only mercenaries, atleast one with the same population size as Venezuela.
In Jagged Alliance 2 a small group of mercenaries takes over a whole country, in reality they wouldnt be enough to even hold a smaller village.
A few soldiers could start a rebellion, but it ultimately boils down to the support of the people in that country.
The cuban revolution in 1959 is a good example of when a revolution (led by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara) succeeds thanks to the support of the people, and the failed revolution in Bolivia in 1967 (where Che Guevara fails to recruit anyone and ends up dead) is a good example of when you dont get the support from the people.
A revolution in Venezuela might be possible in the future, but i doubt it would be started by a mercenary. Rather it would (and should) come from native local officers or political leaders who enjoy the trust and support of the people of Venezuela.

At least i would not trust a mercenary, as the sole purpose for a merc is to fight for whoever pays the highest salary.

“This is shit plan!”

The difference being the jagged characters are lovable and cool, while this is a violent racist paramilitary known for commiting acts of terrorism.

Who do I look like? Siegfried and Roy?!

(Checks calendar) umm….

This was six days ago tho. Nothing happened? Also that website in the post seems like a hell of a scam.

Heard it in her voice too….oy

Alright, lets pop some zits!

I love that you chose this line, many years later I can still hear it

Especially not these mercenaries, who’s names are synonymous with massacring civilians.

Obviously you’ll need Enrico to come home and reclaim the throne, but we often forget about that until he starts sending annoyed letters because you’re too busy training militia trying to hold Alma, but the income from the mines ends up going to Bobby Ray because Pablo can’t keep his fingers off the shipments

Well, you can’t defeat the game without militia. Many venezuelans are rebelling agains the government. Even policimen and soldiers.

I will never not laugh at this quote, it is so perfect.

Hmm…so in the end it was the arms dealers who installed Deidranna in order to drain the countrys economy thanks to gun nuts like you amd me emptying Bobby Rays shelfs foe gold and silver nuggets.

Lets hope so, but remember there was already an attempt on uprising in 2019 (under Juan Guiado) but it failed resulting in 4 killed and 500 wounded or arrested, and he himself now lives in exile in Florida.

Maduro has his own peoples militia that protects him from foreign intervention. Security is key for survival.

Just like in the dystopian novel “1984” the current regime in venezuela keeps the majority population (the plebs, the poor and the working class) happy by providing them with free food, alcohol, soccergames and stupid tv-shows, while they oppress the middleclass and intellectuals who questions the leaders and wants democracy.

The problem with Venezuela is that the current regime itself was born out of a revolution and therefor has learnt from its “mothers milk” how to defeat other revolutions.

A similar example is the failed invasion at the Bay of Pigs, where exilecubans tried to start a revolution against the Cuban revolutionaries, who knew their trade.

You cant fight against a shark in deep waters.
