Is this a built-in recommendation from iOS, or an ad from VPN360?
Someone tell that WiFi to be proud of who they are and that they don’t need VPN360 to be the best version of themself
It’s an iOS feature, I forgot when they added it.
iOS sees you’re on an insecure wifi network like public wifi and sees you have a vpn installed and recommends you use your installed vpn to make that public wifi connection more secure.
I guess using the name of the vpn you have makes it seem like an ad but it’s not.
You can play around with it to test it. Change the vpn you have installed and go to a public/unsecure wifi and you’ll see.
WiFi access point advertising? Eww. I’ll be pissed off if I see UseNortonLifelock and HelloFreshCodeGullible1 show up on my connection list.
Ad.
Apple wouldn’t use a brand name to suggest activating a VPN.
I’m guessing you have the VPN360 app installed on your phone and is able to recognize that the “BTWifi” network does not require a password to connect, which means anyone could connect to that network and potentially see your traffic if not connected to a VPN.
it’s not an ad don’t listen to these people. when apple detects possible unsafe wifis they recommend a VPN you have installed. I had the same thing happen when I used betternet
Isn’t it a new feature of 16.4?
VPN360 paid apple millions is what this is.
edit: i’m dumb lol
I’m guessing you have that VPN’s app/profile installed? If so, it just strikes me as iOS reminding you to use your VPN on an unsecured network. I kinda like it.
Came here to say this. Thank you for not disappointing me. lol
It’s the name of an added VPN profile
Yep this is disgusting
no it’s not an ad, it literally just suggest that you turn your installed vpn app/profile on because the network might not be secure
It’s been a feature for a while. I don’t remember when it started though.
If they had enough money to do that, then they wouldn’t need to advertise.
It’s more likely name-dropping whatever VPN that OP already has installed and available.
You’re right. It’s more of a warning/ reminder, but I still considered it an ad since it will only display this message if you have those apps installed.
I had it happening back on 14.8.1
that’s probably true lol, just very confused as to why apple would name a brand in their pre installed apps.
Oh okay, i did not know.
