So I’ve been told that Opera transferred the ownership to a Chinese company/individual. In the light of the shady business practices that some Chinese firms engage in and the mess up Maxthon browser did stealing the personal user data, I’m a bit skeptical with Opera.
How safe do you consider Opera to be?
Opera browser is still developed in Europe (Norway/Poland I believe) but was bought by a Chinese consortium in 2016. Nothing dodgy related to the browser has come out since then, but as with any service or website there is an element of trust - especially when it comes to using their VPN, sync and other services.
I thought opera have license for this such things so it’s wouldn’t sent any information to third parties? Interesting
Yes, of course it is, the latest version is awesome.
