So I downloaded cheat engine and since EVERYONE says that oh it’s completely safe and oh it’s open source so I was under the assumption that it was COMPLETELY SAFE, but no apparently you need to say no to download a SHIT ton of viruses/PUA/PUP, so what I found so far was winzip and rav vpn/reason labs stuff and deleted those and cheat engine, I know there’s more cause I have something turning my google searches to yahoo but even after resetting my chrome and removing every extension please help I also heard that it has offer-core(which apparently I can’t even say normally on the Reddit) and after 8 post fully read through I haven’t found anyone that has figured out how to remove that just hide it from what I’ve heard, please help, am I fucked, what else does it download, how do I remove offer-core

dude, dont reinstall like people are saying, go control panel and find uninstall programs, remove all unwanted ones, they usually arent viruses just bloatware.
as for the yahoo thing you accidently installed a bad chrome extension, toggle disable them until you find the culprit

Ok i luckily I didn’t reinstall yet so how can I find unwanted programs in control panel, I’ve never really used it before, also I have no chrome extensions so idk how to fix that, might try to reinstall chrome

Back it up onto a drive. A USB stick, an external drive, an internal drive; you name it, can store files = can store backups.
For reference, backing up is as easy as CTRL + C those files onto a drive.
Couldn’t you just, get rid of all the bloatware by uninstalling it? It doesn’t do that much and it’s possible to clean pcs with a shit ton of malware so it should be possible to uninstall like 3 bloatware apps, which sometimes are safe
only problem it is said that offer core (cant say it normally) infects files like when you delete the program any file you have could be infected by it allready
