Samsung Dex is now wireless and this is a truly awesome experience on my Samsung TV. Only issue is that it doesn’t seem compatible with IPVanish mobile running on my S20+
I’ve tried running with Alow lan access enabled and enabled Dex for split tunneling. My suspicion is that there are some system apps I need to enable for split tunneling as well, but I don’t which. Anyone have any experience with this?
I wasn’t able to get any VPN to work. My thinking is that the device is creating a link via miracast which is a wifi standard, and therefore traffic can’t be split between the two for some reason. Would be interesting to know if the network created for miracast is considered local but your testing seems to indicate otherwise.
You’d have to use a VPN app that supports split tunnel. Not sure if there are any for Android.
You ever hear back or find a solution? I’m trying to make Dex my only computing device, and not being able use a VPN is a major bummer.
I tried adding smartview to split tunnel apps and that didn’t work either. I put in a ticket with IPVanish as well. I’ll update this if I ever hear back.

IPVanish Mobile Client for Android supports split tunneling and allow LAN Access. Just can’t figure out which apps are required for this.
Support is actually sticking with me. It’s taken me this long to get escalated to Tier 2 with the back and forth. I’ll definitely update when resolution is found.
