If I access sites and watch videos with PIA VPN, will those data and URL show up encrypted on my wifi router log?

My family is pretty tech-savy. I got a PIA VPN for privacy. If they log onto the the router admin page and check the logs, will they be able to see which sites I went to from the home network?

Browse your pr0n in peace. All traffic appears to/from vpn tunnel

The way a VPN service like this works is there is a dedicated, encrypted, data path from your computer to the PIA servers. Nothing between those two points, including your router, or your ISP, can see the contents of those data packets, or where they go after they get to the PIA server.

This of course means you are placing your trust in PIA to not snoop on your info. But they advertise no logs kept, meaning its impossible to snoop on your data after the fact.

Occasionally the federal government tries to force VPN companies to give over data on certain people, usually trying to beak up drug or kiddy porn rings. And so far PIA has held to the no logs claim, even in court.

Which is why I use them.

So from the log the URL and IP addresses leads to nothing? Not porn actually more like cryptocurrency investment etc. Just don’t want anyone to snoop around

Thanks for the explanation. I’m using mine for Netflix and gaming and crypto investments. Haven’t found any other interesting ways to use it yet. Got it on sale for 2$ a month. Pretty sweet deal :slightly_smiling_face:

The IP addresses lead to your local PIA server.
