I can not use PIA anymore

Hi

My PIA VPN wont connect to any server through OpenVPN nor Wire guard . With wire guard it does connect to the server but it doesn’t give me VPN Ip and after a few seconds it disconnects . I have this issue with my home fiber internet connection and as for my mobile cellular network PIA works fine with it .

I’ve reached online support 4 days ago and they said they will forward this matter to the engineers and i haven’t heard anything from you since then .

I’ve tried some other free VPN s and they all connects and works fine with my fiber connection . i think maybe PIA should have add some more VPN protocols ?

I have experienced exactly the same. Places where PIA does not work, Windscribe IKEV2 and ProtonVPN in stealth mode works. I agree, PIA needs to update.

I do have one work around that is a pita but may work, connect to pia while on mobile, then connect to wifi. That works for me at my gym, but not everywhere.

I experienced this issue in the past and it was tied to our provider (work) blocking VPN connections. If i connected to cellular it would work fine. If I tethered my laptop to my phone, it would connect fine. If I connected either my phone or laptop to the wifi network, PIA wouldn’t connect, or would disconnect if it was already connected via cellular.

Are you using iOS or android which version of PIA are you using?

If you have upgraded to anything above 3.3.1, try going back to it and see if the problem persists.

Sorry about that. My home connection works fine using Sonoma 14.2 on M1 MacBook Air

How did your get the wireguard info i dont see it on their site anymore

Thanks for this tip! I was having issues with PIA cutting my speeds by 95% - 97% (28-47 Mbps on VPN vs. 940 Mbps off VPN), and turning on Shadowsocks is the only thing that has helped. With Shadowsocks on I am getting 410-490 Mbps, which I can live with to have some protection.

Thanks . just tried it on PC and its working . does mobile application have this option too ? I cant find it

Interesting, seems like your ISP was cutting your bandwidth as it detected a VPN. Good to know shadowsocks helps here too!

Yes i meant wifi on my mobile is connected to fiber internet modem . and this fiber connection can not work with PIA vpn ( On both Mobile and PC )

But if use a different internet provider ( Like another network ) PIA works fine .

It seems like PIA is not compatible with my fiber internet

This worked for me on wire guard . I connect to PIA wire guard with my mobile network and then on turn on wifi and it still connects . It doesnt connect directly with Wifi.

On the other hand, do you have shadowsocks for mobile?

PIA doesn’t care what your connection comes to you on. You may need to find out if your ISP is using CGNAT or some bizarre IP routing.

No, unfortunately, mobile doesn’t have shadowsocks support yet :confused: sorry
