how to connect to a Japanese ip?
I think I see your confusion. Wireguard is an application that allows you to connect to VPN servers.
BUT you need to have a VPN service provider, which typically is provided by a VPN provider (Companies you may have heard of like Surf shark VPN, or Nord VPN)
A lot of people in this Sub make our own wireguard servers for various uses but these require access to a server to begin with.
It doesn’t really matter what country the IP Is from. You enter the server IP and port into the Peer settings of the interface.
If you’re using a commercial VPN they should probably provide you the config file.
As another said, WG isn’t like TunnelBear, NordVPN and such. You can’t choose a country.
Long explanation:
VPNs consist of 2 parts: a client and a server. The clients (phones, laptops) connect to the server which could be anywhere in the world. If the server is in Japan, when you connect to it, you will get a Japanese IP. If it is in another country, once you connect to it, it will appear as if you are in that country.
Commercial VPNs like TunnelBear and NordVPN, take care of the sever part, by physically placing one in each country for you to connect.
For Wireguard, you would have to deal with the the server part yourself. Unless you have a friend who is physically in Japan and could install a wireguard server on his computer that is also physically in Japan, you won’t be able to connect to Japan. I am unaware if anyone provides public access to their WG servers, but if they do, i would be careful.
If you need a “trial” or so I think privatevpn.com is a good option
I specifically need connection to Japan, thats why I’m confused.
Are you using a commercial VPN provider? If so which one? They probably have a tutorial on the lie homepage
Buy an VPN from provider that offers connection to Jappan. Or even better, buy a vps hosted in Japan and configure your own server, however thats for more expirience users. Traffic has to go physicly by server in Japan
