I have an unlimited mobile plan. But when outside of my country the speed is limited to 100 kbps after exceeding the 40 GB roaming limit in one month.
Is there any way I can bypass this speed limit? I remember last year having nordvpn, and even after exceeding the 40 GB on roaming my internet speed was still good. Now I don’t use nordvpn anyomore, I instead use the 1.1.1.1 WARP App from cloudflare but it doesn’t work. I don’t want to pay for nordvpn because it’s too expensive for me, and I’m not sure if it works.
I already tried the first method from this guide https://www.groovypost.com/howto/hide-data-usage-get-truly-unlimited-tethering-tmobile-one/ but it doesn’t work.
Is there any other way? If not I’m gonna try a free trial of another vpn too see if it works with a vpn and in case purchase a vpn service again.
1.1.1.1 is a DNS server so no that wouldn’t solve your problem.
Use a VPN and connect to your home location.
Get NetGuard firewall from F droid: GitHub - M66B/NetGuard: A simple way to block access to the internet per app. It allows you to enable or disable mobile data per app and you can decide if it can access mobile data only while screen is on. There are also ways to save data via Android Data saver: Data Saver mode | Android Open Source Project.
Enable data saver modes in your apps as some have it built in such as messenger and YouTube.
If you use YouTube, try an alternative data saving version such as Brave NewPipe: bravenewpipe · GitHub.
Some providers/carriers offer free WiFi as an option, see if yours does. If not, try using WiFi in pubs, cafes and shops.
There are WiFi finders on the play store.
Use r/MacroDroid to enable and disable mobile data when you don’t need it on.
Look in r/degoogle and r/fossdroid to find apps without ads or trackers.
Some carriers offer free mobile data such as FreedomPop: Choose Your Plan | FreedomPop
How are you using 40 GB of data a month?
It doesn’t work even with expressVPN connected to my home location. After some research I think there is no way to avoid internet throttling when on mobile data. Only way is to buy extra data volume.
watching a lot of youtube videos and videos in general without looking how much I was using because I thought that somehow I would still get highspeed even after the 40GB. If I knew that wasn’t the case I would have been more careful. But thanks for the tips. I will try them in the future to save as much data as possible
nope…actually its does work but it might ecause u use expressVPN and not NORDvpn,i use nordvpn and its work like miracle tbh.just yesterday alone i download 100gb+ baldurgate and sparkling zero with it/no throtling, diference when i use without nordvpn,i got THROTHLING and that fukc me up last time, cant even play any fps game bcs of that.
