How do you guys work around sites that block your VPN traffic?

I was filing taxes today and realized that many websites of financial institutions will not load while I am on a VPN (Mullvad). Previous to this, netflix has issues too. Is there a way to get around this while staying secure? I’d like to continue using my current VPN

Google, Nordstrom Rack, AutoTrader and other sites do block some VPN traffic. I will either use another company like Bing instead of Google or just change the VPN location setting. That seems to work.

I use Mullvad also. Usually what I’ll do is just use a different service that allows me to use a VPN.

If there are some services you absolutely have to use without a VPN but don’t want your entire internet traffic to go through your ISP what I do is I use Qomui VPN Client. Qomui allows you to whitelist certain applications from using your VPN traffic.

So what I do is I’ll have a secondary browser with launch arguments set up to go through my ISP directly while everything else still uses my VPN. Qomui supports Mullvad natively and they are open source.

Hope I could help.

I either don’t do business with them, or I set the addresses in an alias in my firewall to direct them over the WAN instead of over the VPN connection.

I’ve had this problem repeatedly with Amazon. Pretty sure they throttle vpn traffic and I’ve no idea how to stop it.

While using VPN, some sites will let you login if your account has 2FA enabled. So you have to turn off VPN in order to create the acct and set 2FA, but after that you can use the VPN.
