I want to use my paid VPN (Mullvad) only with yt-dlp, not system wide (on Linux).
--proxy URL
How do I use this option/which arguments do I have to pass?

You could try to find out if your Mullvad client supports split tunneling, you would then only activate it for yt-dlp.
Alternativly you could set up a virtual machine and install mullvad and yt-dlp inside it.
Vopono is an application-specific way to use a VPN service for a specific task, it sounds like just what you’re looking for.
unless they offer a proxy service, you can’t.
vpn is not a proxy, though some might offer that too.
I run a virtual machine, start the VPN, and then run whatever from within that.
It supports split tunneling, but you can only select programs to not use the VPN.
So the exact opposite of what I need.
I’ll probably just spin up a VM.
Thx I’ll definitely check it out.
nice find. that sounds very useful.
