Hello, I may be overlooking on how to enable port forwarding but when I turn on my saved profile on proton vpn it tells me my port that is forwarded. I binded my proton vpn to qbittorrent but I do not know how to utilize port forwarding when torrenting games on here.
I heard if you your vpn has port forwarding as an option it will make you download faster. Is this true? This is the main reason I bought a subscription with proton vpn. If anyone can help me please respond. I would greatly appreciate it. God Bless
You have to find out the port number of the port that your VPN is forwarding to you, and then put that port number into the Qbittorrent settings.
IIRC from other comments on here, ProtonVPN is annoying because the port number changes and you have to keep updating qbit to match it?
Is it no way to automate the proton port forwarding with the qbit?
It’s going to depend a lot on your setup but you’re best off just enabling UPnP
ProtonVPN is annoying because the port number changes
I did some research, and it does look like it lol, it would be better to use qbit with port forwarding enabled, but OP would need to constantly change his port every time that protonvpn reconnects, which would be a pain in the ass.
also, if he reads this, you’ll need to update the port that qbit is using to connect in the settings, should be under “Options → Connection → Listening Port”, change that to whatever protonvpn forwards it to you.
AirVPN is an good alternative that gives you a static port number
Thank you bro you’re the goat!
Agreed, I use it, pretty good imo
