Has VyprVPN been shit lately for you?

So I purchased VyprVPN originally as people on reddit recommend for China. However, it seems like it’s not working well lately. I wouldn’t even connect on my phone. I just bought astrill and it’s working a lot better than VyprVPN.

I’ve been testing multiple VPNs over the past few months so I have about 5 of them installed on my computer right now. This past month I have seen a noticeable difference in how difficult it has been to connect on all of them.

As often is the case with China, there is a cyclical tightening and releasing of VPNs. For some odd reason, right now it seems to be very tight. In other words, I wouldn’t blame VyprVPN, Pandapow or whatever.

Yes! I have been having some trouble connecting on my iPhone and Mac for the last month or so. It usually takes a few tries and is very slow when it does connect. I don’t think I’ll be renewing my subscription.

I had trouble with Vyper, the tech support guy said it sounded like my ISP was blocking the connections. I switched to Pandapow, and it’s been better.

Hello – We appreciate you trying out VyprVPN for use while in China.

Have you tried the Chameleon VPN protocol? It is designed to scramble OpenVPN packet metadata to ensure it’s not recognizable via DPI, while still keeping it fast and lightweight. The result is that VyprVPN users are able to bypass restrictive networks put in place by governments, corporations and ISPs to achieve an open internet experience without sacrificing the security for which OpenVPN has long been known.

We’ve had many customers in China report that Chameleon is helping them get past the GFW. Please note, we offer a free 3 day trial to test the service.

I was hesitant to renew my Astrill account because I thought I could find something better, 1.5 years of Astrill and I’d say its about 88% good.

Yes, I’ve had stability problems on the computer (frequent disconnects) and on my Android phone it’s not worked at all (the app) and only sporadically when I enter the vpn information manually in the device’s settings. I wouldn’t recommend VyprVPN unfortunately but as it was an extra treat on my Giganews subscription I thought I should use it while in Shanghai this month.

Astrill has been extremely solid compared to any other of the vpn services ive used. So much so that i barely think about the gfw anymore

I’d personally suggest using GOM WebVPN, simply because its just super easy (chrome extension) with no need to install anything.

Yeah vypr has been absolute garbage for me lately as well! Not resubscribing next month, definitely do not get vypr.

I have found that the Ireland and thailand servers usually work though.

Strong VPN has been. Solid the past 2 years. Occasionally I can’t get on,talk to their 24 hr support, and they fix me up.

I don’t have that one but my service has been struggling

pandapow has this problem where after 30min or so connected, it appears as connected but there is no internet traffic possible. both baidu and google would stop working after 30min on pandapow hk server. it happened many many times in the last month. otherwise ok I guess

No issues here either. 8/10.

After the last update and a couple more servers added, Astrill has been better than ever. I won’t say which server, but one of them is smoking fast, as if nobody actually uses it but me. I get almost zero delay hopping the wall.

Everyday before start work i just run the full speed test on US servers and pick the top performer.
