Has anyone tried a dedicated IP?

We all know Netflix has been cracking down hard on VPN by blocking their servers IP. For Netflix it’s quite easy: they just look at the IPs used by a VPN provider and blacklist them. But if you have a dedicated VPN IP only used by you, it’s a bit harder for Netflix. There are offers like this on https://torguard.net

In theory there’s no way for Netflix to know you are using a VPN in that case, but I also know they’ve been banning IP ranges and not just single IPs which is why even people who are not using a VPN have been affected.

I’m particularly interested in what experiences you’ve had with these services in the last days/weeks:

1st: TorGuard Anonymous VPN

2nd: TorGuard Streaming Bundle

3rd: NetflixVPN (they claim to have genuine residential IPs)

Hello! Use https://unogs.com/ to find which shows and movies are where. And if you need a VPN, check out the FAQ!

Anonymous VPN will not stream Netflix.

Streaming Bundle will work with Netflix BUT the IP will need to come from Texas or Pasadena. This may slow your connection down depending on your physical location.

Residential IP is a “maybe” - mine was from Tampa and did not work

Sure there is. Besides hundreds of accounts from different billing states coming from the same IP address there are various other indicators that can give you away.

IP address range is DCH tagged ? Red flag.

Billing address in FL but coming out of CA with a 350ms ping to your Netflix client device ? Red flag.

Egress from Atlanta, but DNS resolver is in Singapore ? Red flag.

The only thing that can work is if the IP range is owned by an ISP, not a datacenter ASN.

Torguard sometimes have CenturyLink / Spectrum Enterprise IP addresses. If you get a dedicated there you could get away with it. Only latency would give you away but they don’t seem to give that much weight.

Torguard anonymous VPN will show mostly Netflix originals.

Torguard streaming bundle will show both Netflix originals AND Hollywood/etc. movies.

Haven’t tried NetflixVPN.

The only completely free (no payment required) trial is at HomeBrewVPN. It is speed limited. It is based 100% on residential IP addresses on Cox Communications. To verify this, connect to it, watch a movie/tv show and then go over to the link below and it’ll show which IP address your account accessed Netflix from. It will be on Cox residential. It USA region is immune from Netflix blocks.

Had to leave torguard bc their streaming bundles amd dedicated ips were rendered useless for oversea streaming.

My dedicated IP is working, but only if accessing via TCP/IP OpenVPN and port 443. If I try to use the udp config file it does not let me get anything but originals.

I have a residential IP that is working for US Netflix from Japan. The first one didn’t work, so they sent me a new one that did. (It’s in Texas as another poster said, but I haven’t noticed any major slowdowns compared to what I used to have in California.)

Why do you think that they can’t tell “in theory?” They absolutely can guess pretty darned easily. It’s safe to say they can very accurately guess if you are.

Look up what a non-isp ASN is.

Have you tried accessing Netflix Japan one of these ways? That’s the most important library for me atm

I don’t think they care about billing address, at least not yet. I’ve had the same Canadian Netflix account for over 15 years, and have lived in Japan for 6. I have a residential IP in the US that I’ve been using since this all started with no problems (thus far).

I think enough of their customers legitimately move around enough that they haven’t bothered fucking with that (yet.)

IP address range is DCH tagged ? Red flag.

Egress from Atlanta, but DNS resolver is in Singapore ? Red flag.

Hi there, do you know of a VPN service that addresses these issues? I want the server I’m connecting to to have absolutely no idea that I’m using a VPN, and am wondering if you know what to buy specifically from Torguard or another VPN provider.
