Has anyone here use a VPN to watch BBC iPlayer? Does it work?
Yes it works. But, You’ll need an out of store APK bbc iplayer app. Then set up a bbc iplayer account and use an English Postcode.
I did. But most seem to be blocked now. They can tell u are using one and block u
On android, I needed to download ‘an out of Play store’ apk for the iplayer though.
You also have the smart dns option and why use it you might ask?
Well it will dynamically switch countries.
As in American, Canadian, UK etc content accessible without the need to explicitly set a country.
Anyone managed on a smart tv?
Works perfectly with ExpressVPN too
Nord worked for me …PIA didn’t work
Surfshark is fine for me along with using an app downloading program Aptoide to easily update the app
Obviously have to set the VPN to somewhere in the uk I normally go London or Manchester
I can really recommend to check this spreadsheet out if anyone is looking for a good VPN to use!
Most of what? BBC player + others in UK, or many sites on many countries?
Which service (with dns)?
This can be done by routing all your internet traffic through your own home brew router via your VPN. This is not an off the shelf solution, there’s good documentation on doing this with a raspberry pi or an old laptop/computer with Linux on it. Be prepared to do some research and getting your hands mucky but it can a great project
Most vpns trying to access BBC
I’m replying to the post about vpn and bbc iplayer.
Free VPN’s usually you are the product or they’ll go bankrupt in few years and sell your data
including with dns option? or “traditional” vpn?
They generate their own
You don’t use a dns with a vpn
