Hello same person from other thread, also looking for a VPN that would work on windows7.Many of the ones I normally use are incompatible. If anyone has any suggestions or an alternative to vpns lmk.
Tried googling but it just gave me the same generic lists of free VPNS all of which are incompatible.

unless something changed recently, Proton still works fine.
Download the open VPN connect client and use configs from your provider of choice.
Air VPN. Cheaper than Proton, and it supports port-forwarding, which is important if the reason you’re using a VPN is to torrent movies and games and stuff.
I remember a vpn that people used for bypassing mega.nz wait when downloading somerhing, but i dont remember the name and Im not sure it will work
Unforutnately won’t work. Already tried both Proton and HideMe. Good suggestion though, proton was my go to on my old laptop

No you don’t need anything else installed but you do need a VPN server to connect to. Openvpn is a protocol used by most VPN providers. Not all providers do this but most will let you log into their website and download an openvpn config that you can use with this client. You could also if you wanted to setup your own server.
Nvm i got it to work. Just had to reinstall
