Given we are all business owners and should be concerned about cyber security, do you think that we should invest in something such as Nord VPN?

No. A lot of people ask me if they should get a VPN and don’t know what it does, can’t tell me what they do that would be benefited by a VPN, or believe VPNs do a whole lot more than actually delivered based on, primarily, Nord VPN YouTube sponsorships.
I would say generally it’s much much better that people learn to practice info-security rather than relying on tools that may prevent a security issue.
My entire staff is horrible about clicking of phishing links, especially random emails that claim to be settlement statements or digital signature envelopes. There are no services in the world that can help me prevent some of these people from typing their username and password for a totally unrelated system, and as soon as we block any incoming attacks, there is always another.
If you’re logging into unsecured, public WiFi, and frequently, a VPN is definitely good, but the vast majority of “hacking” can be prevented by being smart with your email.
VPNs solve a problem that doesn’t really exist anymore. If your connection to some site has SSL (aka you’re going to https://…), your data is encrypted at your computer before it heads out into the world.
A vast majority of data compromises occur via social engineering. Set up randomly generated passwords, use 2FA, and keep your computers updated and you’re basically set. Anything beyond that is unnecessary or useless.
And don’t click anything in an email unless you were already expecting it.
Unless you are a medical provider or CPA you don’t need a VPN. You are better off using cloud software with 2 factor authentication.
