I’m thinking about getting a VPN for my gaming setup. I’ve heard it can reduce lag and improve my connection, especially when playing online multiplayer games like Apex, COD. But are free VPNs any good? Or should I just drop the cash on a paid one?
I’m also curious if using a VPN with my gaming squad would help us coordinate better and reduce connection issues. Any advice from experienced gamers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi , i agree…i have very good inet and mostly 1-5 PING. But i get every 4th Game in Apex lag. After using VPN the fucking laggg was finally gone.

I haven’t so far found a VPN thats free to use and is good for gaming. My squad uses ExpressVPN for faster connection and low ms.
ProtonVPN free plan is the only legitimate unlimited free VPN out there. No clue if it would help with gaming latency.

So all my tests show 13 ping. When I load into a game it shoots up to 74… I’m losing gunfights I shouldn’t be losing and I have the best internet available to the public. Any way to mitigate this hike in ping? Note: This is all without a VPN

Yes, VPN does reduce lag. I get 68ms while gaming with VPN on 49ms. A lot of internet service providers have bad routing.
