Has anyone run into a login issue with ExpressVPN for Android? As soon as I attempt to submit my name/password, I immediately get an error message ‘Unable to Sign In - Please Check Your Connection and Try Again’. I’m fairly convinced the app is not detecting I have an internet connection, I’m really hoping for a work around here…
I’ve tried:
Using my Activation Code as my password instead
LTE and WiFi connections
Password Manager vs typing it manually
It doesn’t seem to matter if I have a valid login or not, the app simply won’t see I have a valid connection when I do. I chatted with their support and it was suggested I try a slew of alternate DNS servers, which we did, but to no avail. I can connect with the openvpn app and the manually downloaded certificate, but i’d rather use the app to make things easier for locations etc. If anyone has run into this issue, or has additional ideas, please please lemme know. I have the client running on 2 other windows 10 boxes, so I know everything else is working just fine (not over the connection device limit, latest app version etc…)… thanks a ton!
PS - I should mention I have the latest updated Galaxy S9, with no programs to modify the connection/dns etc. This should work just like every other single app on my phone, no issues, thanks.
Did you get this sorted, I’m having the exact same problem and getting the same advice. Expressvpn works great on my windows 10 laptop but has quit on my Android 9 box. I do not want to connect my laptop to my TV and Mobdro is an Android App only, so no sports.
Shame really, it has been almost a week now and there appears to be no solution, I guess I should ask for a refund and try another VPN provider?
I contacted their support, and according to them, you sometimes have to log in on a mobile data network because your ISP (Google fiber in my case) sometimes blocks the port that Express VPN authenticates when using Android, so try logging in on data.
I had the same issue on my android box. I would try to log in and it would just keep loading for a long time before studying unable to log in check your connection. I solved this issue by uninstalling my expressvpn, installing ac market apk then downloading expressvpn from the ac market. This worked for my android box
Hi guys! I had the same issue until today. I followed the tech guys suggestion to connect my TV to my 4G (LTE) and it actually worked. Moved back to WiFi, working like a charm.
For those who tried the LTE but didn’t succeed, have you tried Ethernet ?
7.5.1 is the latest I believe. I have the windows app going no problem. Log in through the website as well. Since this issue I’ve installed the router version to bypass the shit Android app.
I was never able to get this fixed. I actually have a router that supports their firmware, so I tried that. I also found it caused connection pauses for ppl streaming from my plex server, so I reverted back to the stock firmware to fix it. I’ve basically given up on expressvpn, the software is fine in Windows, and totally useless with anything else.
It was also suggested by Expressvpn that I try logging into a mobile data network which is impossible, I’m one of those rarities without a cell phone! It was also suggested I try a bunch of DNS servers but I’ve just lost patients.
I’m looking to change my vpn service, I’m not that interested in a vpn on my windows 10 laptop, for what I get up to is pretty boring. To watch BBC and ITV and Mobdro on my android box I need a vpn service, now, can I expect the same sign in problems on android that I’m getting with Expressvpn? PIA looks interesting?
My Android box was working fine until the power was disconnected momentarily and the box needed a reset which cleared my downloaded apps including Expressvpn. After I had downloaded the app again I could not sign in via the app and got the please check your connection and try again.
I managed to get Expressvpn working on my android box, it was suggested that I download the APK 6.8.1 and it worked! Strange, the APK 6.8.1 is for android 5 or lower and I have android 9,
