Background: I am using this for my workplace, I got a remote job, but thing is I travel alot and use public WiFi but my company restrict me to use home internet. So I was hoping to get a IP from any cloud and then built a VPN over it using openvpn. Is is secure and undetectable to my employer? Or I have to buy a dedicated IP service from a VPN provider???
A personal VPN server is more secure than a dedicated ip from a VPN provider.
I’m wondering if a remote computer would solve you problem…
You could use something like Hamachi or zero tier VPN, for remote into a device that’s in your home. And work from it?

I have streamed files from a computer that’s in my home to a laptop while I was away. It’s not bad. There is certain lag whole plain video or any files from the home computer. But if using just remote computer, no issues at all.
Zero tier has free option. But Hamachi is paid.
