These cunts are single-handedly killing privacy on the internet, any website that uses Cloudflare blocks me, I cannot do Captcha, nothing. Actually even if I turn off VPN, it probably remembers the cookies or something, so I have to completely restart and clean cookies and then I can get through Cloudflare.
Otherwise it just spins up my CPU to 100% forever and the wheel icon turns. Nothing happens.
Fuck Cloudflare. Any solutions that don’t require me to compromise my privacy? = don’t tell me to go off VPN or switch off my Firefox extensions, I’d rather not use the website
Same with Google btw, had to switch to Bing on my phone since I can’t get through their infinite PROVE YOU’RE HUMAN otherwise
I get that you are just venting/upset, but Cloudflare actually does a good amount to enhance and promote privacy, particularly at the web standards and protocols level and with DNS technologies.
See for example:
- Oblivious DoH
- Oblivious HTTPS
- ESNI and ECH
- Early adopter/promoter of DoH and DoT, as well as DNSSEC
As to your issues with captchas, that [encountering captchas] are just part of using a VPN unfortunately. But you should be able to complete them (with or without Mullvad VPN). You are blaming Mullvad and Cloudflare, but as others have already reported to you, using Mullvad should not prevent you (and doesn’t prevent me) from solving captchas when I encounter them. It sounds like you know what the real problem most likely is (“don’t tell me to […] switch off my browser extensions”) but just don’t want to accept it. That is your choice, but you should know others can use Mullvad VPN just fine without encountering unsolveable captchas, so you’ve misidentified your problem.
you probably need to look into a vpn or proxy with residential ip addresses. mullvad uses datacenter ips, and their addresses are public. very easy for site hosters to block
Basic question, are you switching VPN servers before making this statement?
switching off his vpn is not the only solution, you shouldnt frame it that way. obviously because all of the mullvad ips are public certain websites are going to block them. he would need some kind of vpn/proxy thats harder to detect
Also This statement is incorrect because it oversimplifies the issue and places blame on the user for not being able to solve captchas while using a VPN like Mullvad. While it is true that using a VPN can sometimes trigger captchas due to the shared IP addresses and potential suspicion of automated activity, the difficulty in solving captchas can also be influenced by other factors such as browser extensions, network settings, or specific website configurations. Blaming the user for not being able to solve captchas while using a VPN is unfair and does not acknowledge the complexities of the issue. Its completely possible the experience with captchas is genuinely impacted by the VPN they are using
Quick rant but It’s the IP ratings. What the fuck do you not get, im a security researcher for a living im pretty sure i know what im talking about, and what you said was so wrong, having captcha related issues 24/7 isn’t just “apart of using a VPN” and as I stated, please learn about ReCaptcha V3 or Invisible Captcha Mechanisms then tell me I’ve misidentified the issue* And Cloudflare is apart of the issue aswell just because they are backed by feds and run the biggest privacy killing campaign I’ve ever encountered and were early innovators of DoH and DoT doesn’t take away the fact that they, 1. block people who aren’t bots and put them in a constant loop, 2. They actively work toward all traffic coming from them, 3. If Cloudflare goes down so does your site lmfao, 4. you don’t need to decrypt traffic to setup a ddos protection for L7 attacks, what Cloudflare does goes against what mullvad stands for. Which I assumed the whole point of this sub was actually remaining that focus on privacy but seeing how that I’m having to explain this to you it’s clearly shown how wrong I am about how in tune the average user here is about their digital privacy and especially about security.
“works on my computer” good for you buddy!
switching off his vpn is not the only solution, you shouldnt frame it that way.
That isn’t what I meant to imply, and not what I think.
What part of my comment gave you the impression that I was suggesting switching off the VPN is his only solution? My intent was to say pretty much exactly the opposite of that.
I use Mullvad nearly 100% of the time, including on Cloudflare protected websites, and I’ve never encountered an unsolvable captcha due ot VPN usage. I never (intended) to suggest they turn off their VPN or that that is “the only solution”
Please let me know what part of my comment gave you that impression, and I will clarify, or edit the comment. If you are referring to the first sentence of the last paragraph, what I mean is that encountering captchas is an inevitable part of using a VPN. I don’t mean that unsolveable captchas is an inevitable part of using a VPN (I don’t even think OPs unsolveable captcha problem is even related to using a VPN). I’ve edited the sentence in my previous comment to make it a bit more clear.
the difficulty in solving captchas can also be influenced by other factors such as browser extensions
That is literally the point that I (and the person you called an asshole) are trying to make.
OP is convinced it is Mullvad + Cloudflare, and is unwilling to look at their browser extensions or other factors specific to their configuration (which is what they should be doing). Both I and the person you call an asshole, mentioned browser extensions…
Nobody is “blaming the user” for anything other than being unwilling to logically troubleshoot the problem, and for jumping to conclusions.
im a security researcher
“”“researcher”“”
then tell me I’ve misidentified the issue
I never said you did, I said OP did (and they objecitively did). Are you OP, why are you using a sockpuppet account to reply to comments? It takes away from your credibility.
