I’ve previously had absolutely no issues with Tor but I recently downloaded it again but can’t connect to any .onion websites. I’ve tried with and without a VPN , followed every “quickfix” that’s recommended, bridges and about every other common issue fix I can find. The only thing I can think of is that either somehow my ISP is blocking any .onion traffic as I’ve never tried accessing .onion with this ISP before (then again, I tried a VPN) or that there’s a small scale ddos attack on exit nodes not big enough to garner attention affecting those in and around my part of the world.
Has anyone else has trouble lately or is there some issue I’ll have to keep trouble shooting for?
Thanks in advance for any help!
*Edit
I’ve also tried disabling my firewall and I’m sure it’s not my connection to Tor or internet connection as clear web sites work fine.
I’m getting 503 for some websites but not all and some say “Onion site not found” “Details: 0xF0 -The onion service descriptor can’t be found on the hashring and therefore the service is not reachable by the client.”.The normal .onion sites seem to work fine.
My logs said that nodes were failing yesterday but I can’t replicate that one today and I got a new one just now: “Closed 1 streams for service [scrubbed].onion for reason resolve failed. Fetch status: No more HSDir available to query.”
Also some getting “Unable to connect. The connection was refused when attempting to contact (several different.onion sites) The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you’re unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection. If your computer or network is protected by firewall or proxy, make sure that Tor Browser is permitted to access the web”
Tried disabling my firewall which didn’t work and not using any proxy
