Hi, please forgive me if I say a tech term incorrectly. I have an Alienware computer, have century link/quantum fiber as my internet provider, and my routers are Eero 6’s. The company I work for uses Hamachi as the remote VPN access. When I use my home Wi-Fi, I can connect to the Hamachi server but can’t open any file or folder in the server from work, and file explorer crashes out. The IT people in my company tried to work on it but couldn’t fix it and suggested that it is that Quantum Fiber blocks my VPN or something like that. I have contacted Quantum Fiber and they say that everything on their end is ok and that they can’t block VPN access on their end. I can, however, connect to it with my phone’s hotspot, and even if I go to Starbucks or another house, I can connect to the server and work just fine. Can you guys help me on how to be able to connect to the server using my Wi-Fi? My hotspot is not the best way to work remotely, and I don’t want to return to Spectrum since it drops every time it rains.
You probably have a double NAT. Make sure either your Eero’s or your gateway are in bridge mode. If you have 2 devices handling DHCP you can have tons of conflicts like this
I have only 2 routers does all of them need to be bridge or just one?
2 routers doesnt work. Either the Eero or the gateway from Century Link need to be in bridge mode. For most users, going in to the Eero app and setting it to bridge mode will be much easier. You may have to power cycle everything after you make the change, but if your issue is a Double Nat then that should resolve it.
