Brave browser is bypassing my surfshark vpn

Hello,

I am trying to figure out why/how my brave is bypassing my vpn location. On chrome and other browsers, my location sets to whatever location I select on my VPN. But brave browser keeps showing my original location. Why/How is that?

How is brave bypassing my vpn. Can anybody please let me know how to stop it.

turn off “use secure DNS” and “DNS over https” if you use a VPN

and make sure you didn’t accidentally allow the website(s) to use your device geo location (gps)

Did you change your DNS provider under Settings > Privacy and Security > Secure DNS?

I’m not familiar with surfshark, but if it does have this option, did you make sure that split tunnel in the surfshark client is not enabled?
Also, why do you use surfshark in the first place. use something like proton which has a kill switch.

I did not change anything.

Under safe protection, standard protection is selected.

Use secure DNS is “on”.

select dns provider is “OS default”

I don’t see anything that I would have changed. Everything is default.

Surfshark has a kill switch, both one that can be manually activated and one that you can set up to engage in specific situations.
