Best VPN for soulseek?

I use Hotspot Shield because its free, but I can only fit about 3 quality albums into the 500mb daily limit. are there better free vpn alternatives? do I even need a vpn to use soulseek? I only use a vpn to download music.

No such thing as a decent free VPN
If you feel you need a vpn for slsk then you read this post

Just heard that Firefox just launched their VPN service and it’s only $5 a month. Mozilla’s pretty serious about privacy so it might be worth checking out

https://vpn.mozilla.org

AirVPN . You can forward ports easily.

People that receive any notice for sharing on slsk are actually using other platforms such as torrent, the internet provider is the first line of defense against piracy, and the method they use is monitoring the amount of download/ upload data. The big uploaders can be seen as the enabler of pirated content, the ones with a huge amount of downloads can be anything, just because the data is downloaded in huge amounts from streaming services on nowadays. Nevertheless, the files you share are protected on slsk, so there has to be another tip to link you to
Piracy practice(torrent). People use slsk
To share big files from audiovisual jobs, software development…so if your country is vigilant and annoying with piracy, they can try to bully you, but without proof, unless they’re already violating your privacy rights.

Since soulseek is a sharing tool, it’s not necessarily illegal to share your folder content, the authorities are more
Concerned with the massive leak from torrent sites.

Yes I would say 100%, you need a VPN! This is just good general advice and not even specific to Soulseek. Of course a quick Duck Duck Go search on the matter will prove enlightening. Or just watch some Edward Snowden videos…

I’m not here to recommend any specific VPN provider, but I have used PIA VPN 4 years with no complaints. The only general advice I would give you is to make sure your VPN has a lot of servers around the world and is not based in China.

Someone told me you need a VPN that supports two consecutive port numbers… not sure if it’s true or not.

Most free VPNs sell out your data. And lie about not doing so.

The better look at normally paid vpn, moreover It costs not a lot of money. VeePN costs only $50 per 5 years with this promo OFF51

Either make your own or pay the six dollars a month for Nord.

Ridiculously over priced
And you can’t open ports, which essentially cripples it for slsk

If you’re just downloading music off soulseek I’m pretty sure you’ll be ok with this, but ok

I know, there’s really no good free VPN. My only other thought would be to build your own VPN.

You’re missing my point

And you haven’t read my post of 3 days ago - specifically the link in it
