Best vpn for privacy?

What is the best vpn for privacy that is also free

The only free one that I’d trust is Proton.

(I also consider Mullvad and Ivpn trustworthy, but they don’t have a free tier).

Mullvad

Edit: Sorry Mullvad isn’t free

No free VPN is private. I was hesitant to pay up at first, but Mullvad is worth the $5 a month and more.

I’m using Proton on GrapheneOS.

When I used free Proton, I had issues logging on with my banks, YouTubeTV, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc… I paid for Proton for a month to see if the paid version offered any better service, and all of the issues I had with the free version went away. You definitely can’t do P2P file transfers on the free version. I’m pretty happy with Proton’s paid service now. I was mixed with their free version. It was free, it served some purposes, but it had annoyances. I would pay for one month and see how that works for you. Otherwise, I don’t know of any other free VPNs out there (that I would trust).

Mullvad.

Don’t trust any free VPN.
Remember that when a service is free, selling your data is the only way to make profit!

None. Believe me when I say that all the IPs on free VPNs have been used for the most sketchy stuff imaginable. You’d be better off NOT using one then.

Proton. But spend $5 and get Mullvad

the one am sure of and trust is Nord100Force Vpn

my suggestion is Nord100Force Vpn who can argue lolz

definitely not nordvpn… all traffic is routed through their servers. i did a bit of digging and noticed strange wifi proxy port opened up when enabling nordvpn threat protection. under my wifi > proxies, two strange ports gets enabled which seems to route all my traffic to 127.0.0.1:XXXXX and 127.0.0.1:XXXXX respectively for web proxy and secure web proxy. dug a bit further and every time i navigate to a site a new port opens up and routes the traffic to those two ports above. the original process seems to be owned by com.nordv

Privacy Guides has some really good ad-free and affiliate-free resources. If it must be free, you should check out Proton VPN.

Why does nobody recommend ExpressVPN? Did I miss something?

I don’t really like having subscriptions, but at that price Mullvad is basically free. One of the best services I ever paid for

Nord100Force is nice too

I use netflix with VPN, I have to log in without the VPN then switch it on. More and more companies are blocking VPNs. It doesn’t help that the VPN companies let people use them for things like DDOS attacks.

This is true with almost every thing but not really true with proton since paid users fund it.
