Been using ExpressVPN since 2014, and love it!

I’ve been reading some off reviews about ExpressVPN over the last few months and it seems a bit odd to me. I’ve been using ExpressVPN for what will be 5 years here in about 2 months. I haven’t had a single issue, with payments, speed, performance, reliability or security.

The only differences in speed I’ve seen have been maybe 1-3mbs down, and most the time it’s hardly even that.

I’ve been using DD-WRT for 7 or 8 years now, along with ExpressVPN since it’s router support was launched which worked flawlessly. I just recently moved to their firmware, I’m currently using a WRT3200ACM. The only down side to their firmware I have found is it doesn’t let me push the range like DD-WRT did, kinda sucks but I will get over it.

What have your experiences been?

ExpressVPN is probably the best VPN out there. Honestly stay away from VPNs like PIA.

They have been amazing for me too but, price is a little high for me.

Depends on user-pattern.

The windows10 app is very unstable and unreliable. P2P seeding is not supported.

My android app has worked well so far tho.

Signed up for express yesterday and my only complain is the 3 device limit. I like it but if the limit gets too annoying I’ll switch. Still got a month to decide.

Yep, I have zero complaints with ExpressVPN. I’ve been using it for about 6 months now. You get 30 days free too - https://www.reddit.com/r/LegalMovieStreaming/comments/be9s0a/best_free_vpn_2019/

My one complaint with expressvpn is that I wish they would add a feature to auto enable on certain WiFi.
If they had this, they’d be perfect

My 12 month subscription (+3 months free) is coming to an end this month and I was just looking to see if there was a cheaper vpn available. I guess I’ll stick with expressVPN, they might be more expensive but you pay for quality. Never had a problem with it, running on W7, W10 and Android. By the way what does PIA mean everyone keeps talking about ?

I’m with you there, heck look at the articles from Russia and Turkey. They seized some ExpressVPN servers trying to figure out more information in regards to the assassination and guess what they found ? nothing.

They indeed have, I have a friend that received a DCMA from his ISP using this service. If you go on their site they have many forum posts also reporting this along with other issues and they just blame it on their configuration, or the fact that they are using Windows… Definitely seems a bit sketchy IMO, anyone that can’t man up to their own mistakes shouldn’t be trusted.

I just pay for the yearly, tend to forget about monthly payments lol

Haven’t had a single issue with the Windows 10 app in all of the years I’ve used it, how is it unreliable ?

Sorry but I don’t think your an actual user if you think the android app is better…

So far I haven’t had an issue with the device restriction, but the only devices I honestly care to have it on are my Laptop, Tablet, and Phone. Whenever my desktop is on I use it, but then my laptop isn’t on so it doesn’t matter. It only matters when you connect the devices.

I wouldn’t complain if that was added either, would definitely make it a complete package. I use a few different applications on my machines so it doesn’t really affect network drives or anything, but it would definitely make things easier.

NordVPN is among the cheapest, if you sign up for 3 years of service. 3 years of NordVPN is only a few dollars more than 1 year with ExpressVPN. I don’t know how it compares in terms of service, though. Honestly, NordVPN’s deceptive marketing is kind of turning me off from them, and I’d rather pay 3x as much for a service that doesn’t lie to its potential customers

And then PIA spreading fake rumors about their competitors, and their fanboys claiming PIA is the only one that doesn’t keep logs? Give me a break

I’ve used PIA for 5+ years now using the killswitch feature grabbing public torrents every day and have never had that happen. Something tells me your friend was doing something wrong and exposed his IP address.

Have to agree with hearwa on this one, I’ve used PIA for 3 years, and even though it is a Five Eyes based VPN, never received any DMCA etc. But my software settings are so it’s bound to the PIA ethernet adapter, and killswitch is also on. I plan to switch to a VPN that is out of 5/9/14 jurisdiction (probably ExpressVPN) soon, but the problems I’ve had with PIA have been the old shitty apps they had in the past, and a specific country’s servers being inconsistent speed-wise. I actually do believe the company’s claims about not logging (remember the F.B.I. thing etc.?) but it’s still a huge risk because it’s a 5 eyes country based company.

I have to doubt the settings your friend used though, I doubt they would risk their no logging policies for a petty DMCA case?

Sounds like it depends on hardware then. For me the latest win10 release consistently crash. The previous release spontaneously deleted its settings upon startup (of the app). Both were confirmed known issues by EVPN customer support.

I’m considering switching to Express. I currently use AirVPN but the speeds kind of suck. If you can help me out I’d appreciate it. Right now I get a profile from Air and use the app OpenVPN to keep my Android connected through the VPN. It’s the Express process similar? My year with air is up in March and I’m shopping until then.
