My dad is about to take a trip to Turkey, but he wants to be able to access Booking.com when he’s there, which is apparently banned in Turkey, to keep in contact with hotel, B&B hosts and such.
I heard that some VPNs might not work in Turkey? Can anyone suggest Free or Cheap ones that do work?

I believe you can manage the reservation normally if you booked the hotel outside of Turkey.
If I remember it correctly, you can’t book a hotel in Turkey via booking.com.
But you can book a hotel from England for example if you are in Turkey
I just went to the website. The website itself isn’t banned and works fine without a VPN, they just aren’t allowed to book properties in Turkey for some reason. Also I’ve used hotels.com to book my stays here and it was fine, not sure why booking has an issue.

You can access booking.com from Turkey, without vpn. However the Turkish hotels are not allowed to use the website. Booking a hotel in Turkey from booking.com is banned everywhere. However I booked hotels outside of Turkey, located at many places, from Turkey using booking.com many times. I guess this is because Turkish tourism owners don’t want to be evaluated by people at booking.com, so that they would expose their low quality and high prices.
Use Opera browser. It has built-in VPN. Just left on the address bar.

Yeah, with a VPN, called planet vpn in this case.
Without one the page came out blank or something.
He also bought an e sim for 10 gb of internet, so you might want to use that as well.

So if I access the website from Italy, as I am doing now, I can see them, but once I step into turkey and use Turkish wifi, I can’t see them anymore?
I’m interested in visiting the same hotel pages, with contacts and such, even when I am there.
The site is not blocked. We can use it to book Hotels as well. Turkey hotels dont allow reservations for Turkish people and thats it. I use it to book hotels abroad all the time.
Hotels in Turkey do not make reservations from booking.com Sadly it is as simple as that. You should try others like hotels.com, Airbnb or individual hotels’ websites.

We’re Italian.
The app and website both work fine. Even without VPN they work. We just can only book overseas properties not from within Turkey.
If you booked the hotel, you can manage it normally. Only thing they restrict is that you can’t book a hotel from Turkey while inside Turkey.
Edit: It’s something to do with Booking.com refusing to pay certain taxes to Turkey.
