Are there any shows like superstore?
Scrubs, Brooklyn 99, The Office, Parks and Rec and Community are all great bets.
The Mindy Project. Marcus’s real life brother is a main character and is basically Marcus if Marcus was a nurse.
Plus - they go shopping at a Cloud Nine!
Community is probably the closest
No, there never has been and never will be, another show like superstore.
Have a Heavenly Day
Obviously, The Office is often compared to Superstore. Justin Spitzer (the Superstore creator) used to work on The Office. Parks and Rec is good (although Chris Pratt’s recent escapades have made it harder for some to watch). Garrett is even in a few episodes of P&R. Party Down is another workplace comedy - it’s about caterers and really great. Brooklyn 99 is also a funny show from Office alums.
Not exactly similar, but still great - Happy Endings, The Good Place and What We Do In The Shadows.
Justin Spitzer just came out with a new show that’s promising - American Auto.
Great News is a very overlooked workplace comedy that I adore, IMO the character humor is really well done. It’s very quick-paced, so I’ve watched it through a few times and am still catching jokes I missed. Unfortunately it only ran for two seasons, but it’s on Netflix.
Cougar Town is really good and has a lot of the same sarcastic humour!
Try American Auto! It’s on peacock and it stars Marcus and has other writers from superstore!
Schitt’s Creek and Kim’s Convenience have served me well since finishing Season 6!
Rostered On is another good Retail-related comedy. It was free on YouTube then Netflix bought the series(might need a VPN for this) and it’s from Australia.
i second the shows that everyone has already mentioned (happy endings, parks and rec, new girl, b99, etc.) and i highly suggest abbott elementary! its mockumentary style but its also a workplace comedy (elementary school) and has similar vibes.
Not exactly the same but I find The Goldbergs and The Middle to be hilarious like Superstore
New girl has the same kinda of humor
I recently saw this question on r/theoffice and one of the recs one AP bio. I started it, and wasn’t immediately hooked, but it some have a similar vibe
The Office, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, Rutherford Falls, American Auto, New Girl, Psych, Community, Big Bang Theory, 30Rock, Modern Family (now on to less alike shows) How I Met Your Mother, Married with Children, King of Queens, Saved by the bell, Greys Anatomy.
To me, 30 Rock feels like Superstore that is in a tv network setting.
Edit: grammar
You should give it’s always sunny in Philadelphia a try
Trollied is a UK show based in a supermarket and there’s an Australian show called Rostered On which is about people working in an electrical store
Superstore, New Girl, Parks & Rec, the Office, Mindy Project, Arrested Development, Community, Bobs Burgers, Party Down
