Hi. Newbie here. I don’t plan on going on the deep web but I am genuinely curious. Is it better to use a PC/Laptop over a smartphone or tablet? Does it really matter or make any difference as far as anonymity goes?
Wifi is gonna more or less be the same kind of protection of anonymity but be extremely cautious when using tor on a cell network bro
phones stick out more in the tor network as the all have different screen sizes where on desktop tor makes it so every one has the same screen size, iphones stick out even more
- Always use it on PC never on mobile/tablets.
- If possible, use fresh/disposable PC (Linux live type or OS in VMware/virtual box that can be reset)
- Connect to VPN and connect that virtual PC to internet
- Use Tor
- Once finished, reset the virtual box is
- Disconnect VPN.
Anything downloaded from tor (pdf, image all types of files) are only opened in virtual os (never ever in real PC).

Mobile Devices will generally allow link your device identity to you tor-session. So try to avoid it.
Laptop or desktop all the way. Unless you are using some burner phone that you plan on throwing away. Im speaking in terms of staying anonymous and doing activities you would like to keep private. If you just want to browse just download tor and go lol. But if you wanna do like deep web stuff get a Zero Trace Pen or burner phone.

Question. On that , if I am running Kali VM and unbuntu is my host which one connects to VPN they are bridged wylo and will Kali still ping back to the host with the same IP from the DHCP ?
What confuses me about vpn is I have to be connected to the internet to turn it on so will LE not be able to track me before I connect to the vpn and just use that IP address before it changes. Sorry if I sound dumb I’m a noob
It very much depends on what you’re using it for. There is nothing wrong with using it on a phone to circumvent some silly country block or if you’re looking for a bit more anonymity on the interweb.
