Anyone at UCSD got experience with using the VPN?

Specifically, I’ve tried going through both the website itself and the EasyConnect client that you can install, and in both cases I have the exact same problem: I can’t use any plugins. No Flash, Java, etc.

I currently am studying abroad in Argentina, and as such, have no access to my beloved Netflix in the dark of the night (and I know all about the South American availability now, long story). Can anyone help me? And for some reason, proxies like hidemyass.com haven’t worked either, including the UCSD one and several others that I’ve tried.

SOMEONE PLEASE HALP

When you log onto the UCSD VPN using the Cisco AnyConnect client, make sure the “Group” selected is “allthruucsd”. Otherwise, only reference sites that require a university subscription will be intercepted by the VPN.

I’ve used the UCSD while vacationing in China to circumvent the Great Firewall. I don’t have Netflix, but I did use it to watch Hulu and YouTube. It wasn’t very speedy, mind you; IIRC it could be unusably slow at times.

IMPORTANT if you do use allthrough via the VPN client do NOT have any torrents running. It’ll direct torrent traffic through the VPN and the UCSD IP space is monitored.

If allthrough doesn’t work go to ninite.com and download the latest flash/silverlight plugins and try a different browser.

Ah thanks for the speedy response. For some reason the AnyConnect client isn’t working, but I’ll try it again later. Thanks again

AnyConnect client should work. I use it all the time as “allthruucsd” and it works perfect!

Thanks for all the help guys! Much appreciated
