AirVpn and torrenting

Just purchased it for the first time. Have a few questions. I’m using the Eddie client. I’ve binded Qbittorrent to Eddie. Is that the right way? Also whenever I look at network adapters, the eddie number keeps increasing. Like imagine if it’s 7, next time I disconnect and reconnect is gonna be 8. Is normal? Also can using the eddie client leak my Ip in any way? Is the Wire guard app better? And lastly. I used Mullvad a long time ago and whenever I would disconnect, the torrent would stop and if I would reconnect, the torrent would start. With eddie binded, if I disconnect, the torrent will stop but if I reconnect, it won’t start. I’ll have to close Qbittorrent and then reopen it to get it working. Is that ok? Didn’t happen with Mullvad.

Yeah I have some of those problems too. not the network adapters problem tho.

test https://ipleak.net/ to see if you real IP is being leaked. You can try using wireguard but I personally prefer openvpn. I always used it for work so I got used to it.

Also can using the eddie client leak my Ip in any way?

I would highly recommend using their Network Lock feature. I have my Eddie client set so when I open the app, it automatically activates Network Lock This would be their “Kill Switch” , except what it means is that the internet traffic goes through their VPN servers, as opposed to just disconnecting the internet if the VPN were to disconnect.

“Network lock when activated sets your system firewall with rules that only let your traffic go through AirVpn servers.
In case of disconnection for whatever reason from the VPN, there are no known data leaks possible outside the VPN tunnel.
Network lock also protects you while connected of possible known data leaks such as DNS leaks, WebRTC…that occur on specific operating systems/configurations that would otherwise reveal your IP.” (via https://airvpn.org/forums/topic/14251-network-lock/)

However, I’m not sure how Eddie compares to their WireGuard app, sorry!

Do you ever get an Ip detected that literally looks like a hash or something?

probably IPV6. it is longer and it has numbers and letters

is it still good to have both in place? I am just setting airvpn up and aside from those two options, anything else important to set as a default?

Oh yeah. That explains a lot. Also what does your network interface look like with Eddie or Open VPN.

Do you mean how is it named? on eddie I believe you can rename it, but the default is OpenVPN.

When using wireguard or openvpn client, I go to the client area and make a config file. my network interface gets named the same as the file, which is the same as the tunnel name

Ah OK. For me Eddie, it’s just Eddie. How does Open VPN compare? Is it a better client?
