Hello,
I’ve had my blog (mishasopenmind .tumblr.com) for many years and use it to mostly reblog stuff. I was kicked out while browsing using a VPN (trustzone vpn) on Sunday 07.05 with no warning. I’m confident I didn’t violate any ToS and pay for ad-free browsing.
I’ve written support twice but no answer yet. Would really appreciate some help. Thank you!
Tumblr does not terminate accounts for using VPNs. Sadly, this happens quite a lot. There is a frequent glitch in the system where accounts that did not violate ToS are terminated by Tumblr.
I also lost two of my accounts but I was able to get them back. There are a few things you can try. First step would be to contact support and send a ticket. You will get a confirmation email. Reply to that email talking about your account termination. Request for your account to be reinstated. Then wait for a week, keep frequently checking your account to see if it’s been restored or not because most of the time Tumblr support does not send any email informing that your account has been restored.
If your account is not restored within the week, create a new Tumblr account and contact support through this new account. I have heard that the bot which terminates your account can also blacklist your email. So use a new Tumblr blog to contact support and reply to the automated email you receive. Talk about your problem, how have terms of service and never violated any of them and how you think it was a glitch in the system. Request for your account to be reinstated. Then wait for another week.
I did not receive any email from Tumblr about my account’s restoration for my first account. I did, however, receive an email for my second account. They basically said it was a glitch in the system.
There are a few other ways I have heard about such as contacting them on Twitter, directly emailing them, contacting the company that owns Tumblr etc. I want you to know that sometimes many people just don’t get their account back but some do get it back. Hope i helped.
